Abdulla Al Qadi

Country Chair, Iraq and MD, Diyala & Basra; Executive Director, Business Development

Abdulla Al-Qadi oversees Crescent Petroleum’s operation  both locally and regionally, as well as new business development initiatives. In May 2024, he was appointed Country Chairman for Iraq, and he also serves as Managing Director for Diyala and Basra, where he supervises the development of the company’s latest projects in these governorates.

Mr. Al-Qadi’s extensive experience spans the entire oil and gas value chain, encompassing project development, drilling, production, HSE, and business development.

Beyond his technical and operational expertise, he is recognised for his leadership in several areas: local content development, career programmes for UAE nationals, corporate social responsibility, emotional resilience, mental agility, and balanced learning habits, and skills. He has been instrumental in Crescent Petroleum’s rapid portfolio expansion in recent years.

Before joining Crescent Petroleum, Mr. Al-Qadi had a successful 17-year career with the ADNOC group, where he last held the position of Offshore & Onshore Drilling Manager. During his tenure at ADNOC, the UAE’s leading National Oil Company, he successfully delivered optimal projects and business solutions across multiple units within the oil industry. He effectively managed a large organisation of up to 300 employees and assets with an annual budget exceeding AED 6 billion, demonstrating positive leadership and achieving maximum results.

Additionally, he serves on the Advisory Board at Oil & Gas IQ. A petroleum engineer by education, Mr. Al-Qadi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the New Mexico School of Mining & Technology, USA.
